Hi! I am Praveena Kandala, a Registered Dietitian and licensed since 2002.  I am a qualified nutrition professional dedicated to helping patients achieve healthy eating and lifestyle habits to live their lives to the fullest extent. A treatment of the individual approach must include attention to the many aspects of a person’s life and the identification of a major health goal. Paramount to this process is what you are feeding yourself – physically and emotionally.  A strong nutritional foundation, unique to individual diet and nutrient needs, will positively influence on all of these areas. With my expertise in all areas of nutrition, I approach each client with regards to their lifestyle and how it affects the way they eat. This personal touch allows me to perfectly identify the root cause of my clients’ problems as we begin to tackle it one step at a time. It’s never too late. Let’s get started to begin the process of nutritional healing.

Cultural Roots

My roots go back to India, where I was born and brought up before moving to the US to do a MS in Nutrition. This background allows me to have a special expertise in both Eastern and Western cuisines, especially the South Asian foods. What I love most about being a Registered Dietitian is helping clients achieve their goals and making a difference in their lives. When you work with me, I value keeping your cultural roots and cuisine so you can pass on your beliefs from generation to generation. Moreover, what I have learned on my journey is, how important nutrition is in disease management as well as healthy living for Indians but at the same time not feeling the pressure or need to give up our own ethnic foods. Diet plans will be tailored to ethnic foods and we will still be able to reach your health goals adhering to our culture and our philosophies.

Moreover what I have learned on my journey was not only how important nutrition is in disease management for Indians but also not feeling the pressure or need to give up our own ethnic foods. You don’t have to give your favorite indian foods to live your exuberant life.

Above all, I strongly believe in being balanced in every facet of life so we can live a healthy vibrant life. I exercise daily, practice yoga and maintain an active & healthy lifestyle. I truly believe to maintain a healthy body; one needs a sound mind and a joyful spirit. When I'm not being a dietitian, you can find me enjoying the outdoors, hiking, gardening and volunteering for many community services.
